I was stuck in one spot when I decided to try your ABP. Twenty-eight days later I have the tools and confidence to forge my own path as an artist. This isn't a program for wimps or whiners. It's work, the best work you'll ever do for yourself.Patricia Scarborough

I wanted to let you know that 6 months after our first ABP call, I'm still benefitting from the program. Learning from the others helped me build a foundation for my art business that helps me feel comfortable with what I'm doing. Certainly I have a long way to go, but at least I know which direction to head!—Patricia Scarborough

What have you been procrastinating?
What obstacles do you need to overcome to move forward?
Would you like to . . .

Finish a body of work?
Organize your studio or office?
Follow up with people you should have been in contact with a long time ago?
Develop a promotional plan?
Write in your journal every day for a month?
Update, start, or expand your mailing list?
Post to your blog three times a week?
Create a routine that makes better use of your time?

If so, the Artist Breakthrough Program may be for you. Here's a little more about it.

I have had a number of requests from artists who are well past the beginning stage and perhaps even beyond the emerging stage. They just need some kind of support from time to time, but not necessarily ongoing coaching support.

I see the type of camaraderie that develops in my structured classes and want to extend that to help tackle your biggest issues.

The Artist Breakthrough Program isn't for everyone.

If you are seriously committed to your art career and are ready to move forward fast, the Artist Breakthrough Program can help.

  • You're in charge. You identify what you want to accomplish in our four weeks together.
  • You will set goals and deadlines, write them down, and share them with others. We'll focus on the baby steps that help you get there.
  • You'll have ongoing support and a group of us to hold you accountable.

The Artist Breakthrough Program is designed to:

  1. Give you a thump on the head when you need it.
  2. Help you focus on overcoming a major obstacle in your art career.
  3. Provide support and inspiration that helps you avoid a career crisis.
  4. Get a focused picture of where you want to be and how you'll get there.
  5. Develop good habits for your art career.
  6. Maintain motivation and enthusiasm.

I've been trying to get my fine art business going for over 25 years but always felt as if my obligations to friends, business colleagues and the community were draining my energies from my art. With the help of the Art Breakthrough Program, I was able to firm up my direction, schedule my time more effectively and seriously pursue my fine art career. I feel as though I'm finally on my way to achieving the goals that I set over 30 years ago.Peter Muzyka

The Artist Breakthrough Program might be for you if:

  1. You are attracted to the group format. You have to be willing to interact with others, take advice, listen to needs, and give feedback.

  2. You have a positive attitude. I won't allow any whining or excuses. Life is too short and I want to help those who can help themselves. You have to believe you can make it work.

  3. You are open to all forms of art and supportive of the artists who make it. My clients and subscribers come from all kinds of backgrounds: painters, jewelers, sculptors, quiltmakers, potters, printmakers. . . . They're from all fifty states, the U.K., Canada, Australia, and many non-English-speaking countries. But they have something in common in that they want to succeed as a visual artist. You must be willing to give that support and devote as much time to others in the group as you expect them to give to you.

  4. You are open to help and guidance for your career. We're here to help. You'll get lots of feedback from group members and you must be willing to listen to it and accept what might work for you. If you dismiss everything with a reason as to why it can't be done, you won't get far in this group or in your career.

  5. You are willing to set goals and deadlines and to have us hold you accountable. Not everyone is ready to take this step. It's sometimes uncomfortable when you're not used to sharing. Speaking of which . . .

  6. You are prepared to take risks. We're not about making you comfortable. To take giant steps forward, you must get out of your comfort zone. You have to challenge yourself constantly. Amazingly enough, it will soon become second nature with all of this support and you'll be surprised at your bold new attitude.

How the Artist Breakthrough Program Works

Each session will have a minimum of six and a maximum of 12 people in it. The groups must be large enough to get a variety of helpful input, but small enough to ensure that you get the feedback you need.

We will have four 90-minute phone calls. This time is for you to check in with where you are at that moment, to make requests of others in the group, to ask for resources and guidance, and to commit to your next move.

The calls are conducted over a U.S. telephone bridge line that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. You will incur long-distance charges. I personally moderate and host all of the calls, which are recorded for later download.

Call dates (all WEDNESDAYS)
February 4, 11, 18 and March 4

Call time: 6pm ET, 5pm CT, 4pm MT, and 3pm PT
Please check World Time Zones to verify your time.

Applications (see below) due by January 25.
When possible, applicants will be notified immediately upon receipt,
but no later than January 30.

ABP members will be paired up with mastermind partners in between calls. Think of this as a kind of buddy system.

ABP members will receive frequent encouraging email from me. Just enough to remind you that I'm here and watching.

We'll try out a group blog to see if this is a good way to keep in touch. All ABP members will have the capability to author posts--not just comment on them.

Ready for your breakthrough?

The Artist Breakthrough Program is just $199 for 6 hours of group coaching on the calls and 28 days of support.
